6. Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons
There's something about Brothers, something so whimsical and Tolkien-esque, it manages to exude the same escapist tones as The Hobbit and Bilbo's initial adventures. Playing as the titular pair of brothers on a quest to retrieve some medicine for your dying father, you control them simultaneously thanks to both having a couple of shoulder buttons and an analogue stick each. You'll have to rewire your brain a little to run and jump in the same direction, but from there on in you'll encounter light puzzle elements that compliment the grandiose tale that takes you farther and farther away from home. Along the way you'll wander into the homes of giants, ride mythical beasts, narrowly escape collapsing scenery and even endure a little heartache - it's the kind of story that could transcend gaming into any other medium, and for that, makes Tales of Two Sons mighty special indeed. Oh and yes, it originally came out in 2013, but the Xbox One release was only in 2015.
