10 Best Zombie Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

5. State Of Decay

Hitting the Xbox 360 in 2013, State of Decay has enjoyed its position as a cult hit ever since. Tasking players with taking control of a bunch of survivors and keeping them stocked with resources and safe from post-apocalyptic threats, the game added a much needed tactical edge to the genre that was sorely missing around the dawn of the decade.

Despite the popularity of zombie survival sims over the past few years though, very few of them have actually been as enjoyable and accessible as State of Decay. Striking a brilliant balance between the crafting and exploration side of the genre with actual zombie killing action, the 360 release provided players with a more demanding post-apocalyptic experience than they may have been used to.

With a sequel coming out next year, there hasn't been a better time to go back and give the original game the chance it deserves. Its indie leanings definitely still shine through, but they don't stop it from being one of the best games in the genre.
