10 Better Games That Were Secretly Hidden In Video Games
5. Mile High Club - Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
There's absolutely no denying that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most influential FPS games of all time, by way of both its progression-based multiplayer suite and highly polished, cinematic campaign.
Though Modern Warfare's short-but-sweet story mode offers up a number of memorable, even iconic levels, Infinity Ward actually ended up saving the best for last - so late, in fact, that you might've missed it entirely.
By completing the campaign and sitting through the end credits, players will unlock an extra final mission, "Mile High Club," which while unrelated to the campaign's story, delivers a more intense, white-knuckle experience than anything else in the game - if not the entire series.
Mile High Club is a time-based extraction mission in which the player, as an SAS operative, must shoot their way through a terrorist-filled plane in order to safely retrieve a nondescript VIP and then leap out of the aircraft.
The mission is timed, ranging from three minutes to just one minute depending on your selected difficulty, and it's far and away the most exhilarating part of the game, especially if you're bold enough to attempt that 60-second Veteran run.
There's an urgency to Mile High Club which is so uncommon throughout the franchise otherwise.
Though it went on to inspire the similar Special Ops mode in subsequent Call of Duty titles, it's a shame this intensity level never carried through to the series' meat-and-potatoes campaigns.
