10 Better Games That Were Secretly Hidden In Video Games
4. The Birth Of The Boss - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is an excellent game any way you slice it, and while Hideo Kojima certainly did good on fleshing out the backstory of Big Boss aka Naked Snake, the character ultimately ended up being surpassed by a supporting player in his own game.
The Boss, first introduced as Snake's mentor before seemingly defecting to the Soviet Union, steals basically every scene she's in.
As enigmatic as she is totally badass, The Boss' legacy as an all-timer video game character was cemented by the game's stunning twist ending, where it's revealed that she never actually defected and was secretly working in the interests of the U.S. the entire time, dying a secret martyr.
And pretty much ever since Snake Eater's release, a strong quarter of fans have been calling upon Kojima to give The Boss her own prequel game. To play as a younger version of the character and see her become a legendary soldier first-hand would basically sell itself.
It's almost certainly never going to happen given Kojima's acrimonious split from publisher Konami, but if Metal Gear Solid ever does make a return with Kojima at the helm, exploring The Boss' origins would be a smart way to keep the series alive without returning to the Solid Snake/Big Boss well yet again.
