Whether you want it to happen or not, all of the most popular Call of Duty games are without a doubt being prepped for a remaster at some point. Activision loves money too much to let a little thing like oversaturation get in the way of a quick buck, and following in the footsteps of Modern Warfare Remastered back in 2016, there's a good chance that the original Black Ops will be receiving a next-gen makeover next year.

Not only is it likely because it's arguably the most popular COD outside of Modern Warfare 2, but the game's developers, Treyarch, are in charge of the next instalment in the franchise. Consequently, bundling their upcoming release with their most beloved game could help boost sales and avoid the stink of desperation that haunted MWR.

There's a slight chance that World at War might be the one stepping up to the plate with it being the title's 10-year anniversary and with WW2 being such a smash hit, but Black Ops is by far the bigger game of the two, and the one Activision would no doubt try to wring the most money out of.
