10 Biggest Gaming Myths About The Apocalypse

3. Waiting For The Bus

The world went to hell and left you in the middle of it, rapidly going through your pitiful supplies and processing the guilt from when you had to put a bullet through your neighbour€™s face because he ate your wife. It€™s a tough world, but you're a survivor. Nonetheless eventually those supplies run out and the world around you has already been pillaged, so you need to get out of town. In games, that usually means a long walk until you need to go that extra mile, but how do you get there? If you're in the Last of Us, a friend gives you a horse, in Gears of War you get dropped in and out of places in a souped up helicopter called a King Raven. Post-apocalyptic transport is as key to our survival as, in the real world, it is to our commute. Except in the real apocalypse it's unlikely you'll be able to fuel the machines you find, let alone keep them out of the hands of bandit. Plus, if you do get a horse, you'll probably just end up eating it.
