It's not every day that a Kickstarter manages to accrue around 4 million dollars, but it's not every day that Mega Man creator and beloved developer Keiji Inafune is the one asking for cash, either.

As such, old school gamers and retro-fans alike flocked to support both Inafune and his team over at Comcept, consistently obliterating the original stretch goals until the project was ludicrously over-budget and impossible to control. Suddenly there was call for scoreboard-based multiplayer and platform support for every console under the sun, the end result forcing a mass market media campaign that has hands-down the worst advert for a video game, possibly ever.

The icing on the sh*tcake came with Inafune himself saying the game was "better than nothing", which he'd then claim was the fault of a mis-translation.

What he really said, was "I own all the problems" for the game's unabashed failure.

Yup, that's much better...
