What an absolute mess of a thing this is. And a sad one at that.

Palmer Luckey is the young innovative genius you can thank for helping perfect virtual reality. He formed Oculus Rift after building a prototype headset at age 18, got the world's attention and sold the rights to Facebook for a cool two billion dollars.

So far, so good.

In 2016 though, not so much, as it turned out Luckey was using his newfound wealth to spend millions on 'sh*tposting' and 'meme magic' i.e. the art of in this case, spreading as much vile, white supremacist media as possible in the hope of backing both Donald Trump's rise to power, and anything that leans far-right politically. Demonising Muslims, shutting down rationale conversations online - y'know, all that 'fun' stuff.

As such, Luckey hasn't posted on Twitter since September 2016, and is yet to comment, take part in any interviews or do anything since all of this initially blew up. A real shame, especially at a time when VR needs all the goodwill and progressive thinking it can get.
