10 Biggest Lies Gamers Tell Themselves

9. I Loved The Movie, Maybe I'll Love The Game Tie-In Too

Everyone over the age of ten knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that around 99% of all movie tie-in video games are as offensive and selfishly-conceived as wartime propaganda. However if you really liked a particular movie, there's still an outside chance you'll feel the urge to buy the video game of the same name regardless.

"Maybe this one, out of all the others, will be the one to buck the trend" you say to yourself as you blinkingly shell out top dollar for the privilege of playing. I've got news for you my friend, unless the game you're holding is Spider Man 2 for the PS2, then you're about to be sorely disappointed. It's going to suck. And what's worse, you bought it knowing deep down inside that that would be the case.

It's okay. We've all been duped by a movie tie-in game. I was so blinded by my enthusiasm for Captain America that I avoided any and all reviews and went out to buy it against my better judgement. I went through the dance. I said "maybe this is the one"; I put it on; I lied to myself for a while before eventually having to face reality. It was s**t. Just like almost every other tie-in on the market.
