10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In Fighting Game History
6. Great Characters Missing From The King Of Fighters All Star
If you're talking about the most famous and beloved fighting game franchises, you'll hear many names like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, MK or Street Fighter. But, some slightly more underground, hipsteresque players might proclaim The King Of Fighters as the, well, king of fighters.
While it's not the biggest IP, this franchise has had its time in the sun, and one particularly entertaining venture is the *deep breath* beat 'em up style role-playing mobile game The King Of Fighters All Star.
It's an enjoyable little romp, and a big part of that comes from the use of crossover characters from all walks of entertainment, including anime, gaming and even WWE. But, littered throughout all those names is a slew of missed opportunities.
Many of these crossovers are missing vital characters who felt like shoo-ins. You've got Street Fighter with no Ken or Cammy, The Seven Deadly Sins with only five sins (missing fan-favourites Gowther and Escanor), Guilty Gear with no Ky, Dead or Alive with no Ayane, WWE with no Brock Lesnar or Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the list goes on.
Of course, you can't feature every character in these crossovers, but many of the names included feel like wasted spots. Who even wants to fight as Elizabeth Liones?!
