Remember Might No. 9? Yeah, that's a game that happened.

Keiji Inafune, the iconic mind behind Mega Man, announced in 2013 that he and his team wanted to make a spiritual successor to the blue bomber! The Mega Man series had been long dormant at Capcom and fans were irked by the seeming snubbing of the series. So when Inafune and co. took the idea to Kickstarter, they got funded within 2 days and it's fair to say excitement was palpable.

A seriously troubled development cycle followed, in which Inafune was stretched thin on three different projects and an animated series for the game. He even tried to Kickstart a new game during development, which was never funded. Mighty No. 9 was delayed three times before releasing in June of 2016, and it was still a colossal failure. An aggressively average game that didn't so much live-up to the hype of Mega Man, sadly it ultimately sullied the reputation of its creator.
