10 Biggest Video Game Disappointments Of The Generation
7. Assassin's Creed: Unity
By far, Unity is the low point of the Assassin's Creed franchise, and it almost derailed it entirely.
Focusing on the most interesting period in French history and the first full-fledged game on the PS4 and Xbox One, Assassin's Creed: Unity seemed like a surefire recipe for success.
Alas, the story was bland, the characters boring and forgettable, and the game riddled with bugs. Unity quickly went from exciting video game to embarrassing meme.
The game was such a disappointment that it caused the series to halt. The successor to Unity - the actually good Syndicate - failed to meet sales expectations, largely due to the sullied reputation. Ubisoft then decided to take a year off before bouncing back with the soft-reboot, Origins.
Since then, the AC series has been catapulted to higher success than ever before, but it says everything you need to know about Unity that everyone's lasting memory of the game is the glitch of the guy with no face but retaining his hair, eyes and lips.
