10 Biggest Video Game Time Sinks
7. I Am Bread
I Am Bread is an absolutely genius concept. From Bossa Studios, the makers of the frustrating and hilarious Surgeon Simulator, this crazy game sees you play as a literal slice of bread, who must traverse increasingly difficult rooms to toast yourself. It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but it's also incredibly fun and agonisingly addictive.
Articulating all four corners of the bread, you have to avoid floors and other dirty areas in order to reach the toaster, radiator, lamp, or whatever else you can use to complete your mission. The gameplay can be very fiddly, and while it will leave you wanting to smash your computer's keyboard, you also will also find yourself insisting on one more go.
Additional modes allow you to play as different kinds of bread, with different goals. Baguette mode, where your only task is to smash as much as you can, is ridiculously entertaining.
For such a ludicrous concept, I Am Bread has amazing execution and a surprisingly dark story. You might feel for Mr. Murton, the game's human protagonist, but you'll definitely keep wrecking his house and slowly driving him insane.
