3. LSD Dream Emulator (1998, PSX)

Remember that time we all got loaded and had tons of LSD and then played Playstation into the night? Man that was a wild evening. I must have hit those tabs pretty hard because I genuinely thought I was playing on a game that some one based on the acid trip experience! I know it sounds crazy but ... oh, wait .... really? ... they did? .... sigh. Even in 1998 basing a game on what is believed to be the way someone on drugs sees life was a bold step and as you can see from the screenshot it really did not turn out all too good. Apparently the game is based on the dream journal of Asmik Ace Entertainment's Hiroko Nishikawa kept over a ten year period but someone somewhere should have asked him precisely what he'd been taking before heading to bed every night if this monstrosity of colour was the end result. There's not even an actual plot to the 'game' - you just wonder around navigating the dream world and interacting with the objects (not people) that you encounter along the way - if any. LSD sure as Hell is not one of those dreams that sticks with you for days. It's exactly like a real dream and equally stupid and forgettable.
