When we said bold predictions, they don't get much bolder than this.

Remember Deep Down? Capcom's visually stunning co-op dungeon crawler was first revealed at Sony's PlayStation Meeting in February 2013, the very same showcase where they first unveiled the PlayStation 4.

The eye-popping first trailer turned a lot of heads with its Dark Souls-esque gameplay and gorgeous visuals, but soon thereafter word went suspiciously quiet and most players have since written it off as shelved.

The Deep Down trademark has been periodically renewed, though, and back in 2019 producer Yoshinori Ono said the game "[has] not been completely given up on." In the last 18 months, though, everyone involved with the project has effectively been radio silent.

Yet considering the recent success of Demon's Souls, there's probably no better time to reintroduce Deep Down as a reworked title for PS5, similar to how The Last Guardian was resurrected for PS4 after years in development hell as a PS3 game.

Again, this is unlikely to happen even if Sony hosts a State of Play around E3 - given that they seemingly aren't officially partnering with E3 this year - but stranger things have most certainly happened.

Every single year, fans cross their fingers for a Deep Down re-reveal, and that continued interest has to mean something, right?
