Sam Lake and his development team over at Remedy Entertainment are known for creating games with delightfully oddball and equally captivating narratives, the time-bending Quantum Break and physics-altering Control being their most recent examples.

Likewise, the critically-acclaimed and multi award-winning Alan Wake is yet another example of why the studio have become so popular within the last decade.

Releasing on Xbox 360 back in 2010, this gripping psychological horror saw players as the eponymous writer vacationing in the Twin Peaks-esque town of Bright Falls. However, things quickly take a sinister turn when shadowy creatures manifest from the pages of a novel he can't remember writing.

A love letter to the work of Stephen King, much of the game's atmosphere and scale was captured in its score by Petri Alanko. Going on to compose the music for Quantum Break and Control, Alanko's sweeping orchestral soundscape that accompanies our journey throughout Bright Falls walks that thin line between beautifully haunting and haunting of the more conventional sense as we get sucked deeper into the game's central mystery.

'Welcome To Bright Falls', 'Departure', and 'The Clicker' are just some of the soundtrack's notable highlights. And let's not forget Poets Of The Fall's 'War', too.
