Since the release of Assassin's Creed back in 2007, Ubisoft have continued to take us across painstakingly recreated eras of history for some of the most enjoyable adventures in recent memory.

We've scaled buildings in 12th century Jerusalem, ran across the Venetian canals in Renaissance Italy, zipped across the streets of Victorian London, and battled mythical creatures in Ancient Greece. And in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, we got to sail the Caribbean seas to live out our dreams of being a pirate.

Taking control of pirate-turned-assassin Edward Kenway, Black Flag offered a tropical environment brimming with islands to explore and even more ships to take on in naval combat that's now become associated with the franchise.

Underlining it all was a swashbuckling score brought to us courtesy of two-time Emmy nominated composer Brian Tyler, who you might recognise for his work for Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Far Cry 3. Alongside the main theme, notable tracks include 'On The Horizon' and 'The Ends Of The Earth'.

Characterising the pirate setting with expressive strings and a bombastic percussion section with a hint of electronics thrown in that highlights the series' sci-fi elements, this BAFTA-nominated score is the perfect soundtrack for any pirate-based fantasies.
