10 Brilliant Video Games Buried Under TERRIBLE Mechanics
9. Batman: Arkham Knight - The Batmobile
With the announcement of Gotham Knights now seems like as good a time as any to partake in every Batman fans favourite pass time: complaining once again about the Batmobile.
What much is there left to say about Arkham Knights unfortunate decision to bring the Batmobile into their Arkham series? Besides the fact that it hindered the game in so many ways many actively consider it to be the worst in the franchise of course.
The rest of the game is classic Arkham game play, beat up some guys, solve some puzzles, and collect an indiscriminate amount of obnoxious Riddler trophies just to get a five second cutscene at the end of the game.
Then the Batmobile sections come into it and honestly, no thanks. The whole thing somehow makes playing a Batman game a chore, which is something nobody should ever have to admit. Now instead of fighting bad guys and solving crimes the Dark Knight himself is fighting tanks, lumbering around in a car that feels as if its max speed is capped at 30mph, and solving puzzles that amount to "attach a rope to this bit of sewer and pull."
Now with Batman "dead" let's hope the Batmobile went with him.
