10 Brilliant Video Games Buried Under TERRIBLE Mechanics
4. GTA Online - The Shark Card Economy
Did you know that every time GTA Online's name is mentioned another £50 super car is released?
There once was a time where the idea of GTA Online was almost revolutionary. The same game that we all know and love, only now you can play with your friends in the frantic sandbox. Not only that but with the Heists update players could jump into 4 man pre-planned missions to rob banks, military bases, and sell meth. Who doesn't want that? Well it only took a few years but somehow Rockstar managed to do what all companies do best.
They milked the player base dry.
Now if you want to be ahead Online you're going to need to sign up to Rockstar's sharkcard subscription service and shell out £50 a month to keep up with the ridiculously pricey content. Or you could grind it out, but that takes so long it might as well count as a full time job.
The worst part isn't even the shark cards themselves. It's the fact that content is released so frequently - and so expensively - that keeping up with it is impossible to do without shelling out to the corporate overlord.
Or you could just hack, because clearly Rockstar doesn't care about that.
