10 Brilliant Video Games Buried Under TERRIBLE Mechanics
3. Dragon Age: Inquisition - MMO Side Quests
Dragon Age is one of the best party based RPG's of the past 20 years. Origins that is, Inquisition is just kinda bland.
The reason for this is how the game handles its open world elements. Origins presented the player with far smaller and more succinct "hub" areas to wade around in, picking up side quests and engaging with memorable characters. In fact some of the best moments of a good RPG are those side quests that completely whisk the player away on a shorter and more unique adventure.
In Inquisition that's all gone.
Instead the player will spend their time running around Ferelden and Orlais picking up MMO style quests that task the player with such important tasks as... Fetching 10 bear arses. Riveting.
The difference in quests is laughable and also a huge shame. Gone are the days of compelling and interesting adventures that aren't the main story. Despite this Inquisition is still a good game at it's core. Sure it's all a bit watered down compared to Origins, but at least it's better than Dragon Age 2.
And hey at least the Qunari are playable in this one, which can only be seen as an absolute win.
