10 Broken Video Games That Still Aren't Fixed

1. Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing

Big Rigs
Stellar Stone

Release Date: November 20, 2003

What Happened? One of the worst games ever made, that's what. Released complete broken and unfinished in a pre-alpha state, Big Rigs remained for almost a decade the only game to score the prestigious 1/10 score from Gamespot.

It's a racing game where your opponents don't actually move, where the graphics stutter constantly, where every vehicle controls like a milk float driving through treacle, where you can drive through any object you wish, and where you'll be rewarded with text reading "You're winner!" upon winning a "race".

Today: Considering that the game cost a mere $15,000 to make and sold over 20,000 copies (somehow), it's pretty astounding that developers Stellar Stone didn't make at least a cursory effort to try and repair it despite clearly making a huge profit even if each player only paid $5. Then again, we probably shouldn't be seeking logic from the guys who let this game hit the market in this state.

They released one meager, largely ineffective quality-of-life patch in late 2003, and since then it's been up to "fans", mostly driven by ironic intentions no doubt, to actually try and bring the game to a properly playable state. The problem now is that the game's entire reputation is staked on its awfulness, so if it was ever actually patched to a decent level of functionality, it would probably just end up forgotten as a mediocre racing game.

Which still-broken games infuriate you the most? Shout them out in the comments!
