What Happened? One word: netcode. From the word "go", players complained about matchmaking times, bad hit detection, buggy gameplay, high pings for no apparent reason on strong internet connections and insane lag compensation to boot, repetitive map rotation, an inconsistent ranking system and an abundance of hacking. Hilariously, some players even claim that the game has gotten worse since Ubi began rolling out patches to "fix" these problems.

Today: Though Ubisoft have to their credit kept trying to repair the problems, players are still vocally complaining about the majority of these issues, with hit detection being the most common bugbear. Also, customer service taking weeks to reply to support tickets has only further soured the general fan response to the game.
