10 Cancelled Video Games That Could Have Been Masterpieces

7. Dead Phoenix

Developer: Capcom Premise: Fantasy 3D shoot 'em up Very little of substance was ever revealed about Dead Phoenix, other than a few short gameplay clips and brief documentation. The game was to be a big exclusive for the GameCube, as part of the 'Capcom Five' that also included Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 4, Killer7 and P.N.03. Dead Phoenix was a 3D shoot 'em up set in a fantasy world filled with mythical monsters, including dragons, and it looked to be an attempt at making a more mature version of Nintendo's beloved Kid Icarus series. Mysteriously, all information regarding Dead Phoenix seemed to dry up not long after its announcement, and Capcom have outright refused to ever comment on the game over a decade later. Considering how fantastic some of the developer's other titles for the GameCube were, it's a shame that we may have missed out on such a potentially iconic game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geuIcRno-0A
