10 Cancelled Video Games That Looked Awesome

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEfuZj8TjSE There's a sad irony in the fact that someone finally makes an adaptation of a film that looks like it might be worth playing, and the damn thing ends up getting shelved! Given how popular the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is, a game like this would surely go down a treat, all the more given that it actually looks like it had some thought and imagination put into it; an RPG set in the POTC universe - what could possibly go wrong? It even had a choice system where your decisions had a bearing on the world around you, but alas, it was never to be, as Disney decided to restructure their development studios, effectively leaving nobody to actually finish things off. It sounded surprisingly large in scope and involved for a game that ended up being ditched; we can only imagine how much time and money had been pumped into it prior to cancellation, as the promise of a full-scale world that changed with you sounded pretty damn amazing. Alas, it'll become of those old gaming sea shanties and nothing more, unfortunately.
