4. Eight Days
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDOZvKWXDP4 The original trailer for Eight Days popped up at E3 2005, and very nearly stole the show, delivering heart-stopping visuals and promising to be one of the top-tier titles for the PS3. The game was to take place over 8 days in the Arizona desert, and going by this trailer, it was going to be an absolute corker of a game. However, there was some concern over whether the above trailer was really gameplay footage, or just a pre-rendered trailer used to wow the crowds - after all, who can forget the Killzone 2 controversy? - and this did colour a lot of the conversations about the game. In the end, the game was cancelled, reportedly because it didn't have a multiplayer mode, as this was just around the time that online was essentially becoming a necessity in most titles. Still, had it looked half as good as that trailer, it would have been a considerable achievement for the time; it's a shame we'll never know how it really would have panned out, though.
