10 Cancelled Video Games That Looked Awesome

2. Sadness

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-ChQXHxqSI Sadness had the makings of a terrifying game, being set in pre-war Ukraine, with the player having to protect a blind young boy from countless foes, as well as his own fractured mental state. It had all the potential to be a great survival horror title while making good use of the Wii's motion controls, but sadly, after 4 years of development, the game was cancelled and not a scrap of gameplay was ever released to the public. Given that the studio has permanently shut down now, we're never probably going to see what it might have looked like, unless a disgruntled developer again posts something online (which they surely would have by now, anyway). Given how innovative it all sounded - allowing players to adapt almost any item to be a weapon, and the lack of a HUD enhancing immersion - it's possible that the developers simply realised they couldn't fulfil the promise of their ambition. Interviews with key talent in the team suggest that the studio was simply poorly managed, and this meant that that they constantly failed to meet deadlines and actually get things done.
