7. Everyone - Hotline Miami

Hotline Miami was and still is a unique breath of fresh air in the weird little niche genre it sits in. Retro, arcade, hardcore, twitch-shooter, a little bit meta, a little bit short, it’s refreshing to say the least.

Yet, regardless of the small level count and an aesthetic capable of inducing a drug-free hallucinogenic episode, it is hard. Every enemy can one-shot you, regardless of distance or how quickly you looked away from the screen. Twitchy is right because your aim needs to be on the money or you’ll be on the chequered floor.

This is without even mentioning the several boss fights you'll have to endure after clearing certain levels.

It’s a satisfying, if not cruel experience and a second layer of satisfaction can be found when trying to get the best grade on each level. Why? Because achievements, of course.

Now, take everything you’ve learned and turn it up to eleven.

Not only do you need to be accurate, you now need speed, edging every corner and routing your path perfectly.
