10 Classic Games Missing From The Sega Mega Drive Mini

9. Flashback: The Quest For Identity

Flashback is a weird little game. Very similar in play-style to Another World (and from the same developer, Delphine), Flashback is a 2D side-scrolling puzzle adventure game where you, as amnesiac Conrad, must recover his memories.

It's an adventure quite unlike anything else on the Mega Drive, and it's a game with a lot of depth and an excellently-realised futuristic aesthetic. Its omission from the Mega Drive Mini lineup is a bit of a shame, although it could be due to licensing issues, particularly with the game being recently remade.

If it was to be included, there's plenty to enjoy here, including Conrad's great animations: his gun shuffle, dodge roll and incredibly-hard-to-pull-off run, jump and grab move. It can be a brutally difficult game where you need to know the ins and outs of how levels work, but if you learn the ropes, it's a lot of fun.

There's even a really cool level which is basically a clone of Arnie's classic movie The Running Man. Here, you compete in a game show to the death to win a ticket back to Earth.
