Thanks to the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and Disney's regular outpouring of content set in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars is enjoying something of a renaissance, demonstrated partially by its wealth of recent video game releases.

Unfortunately, the Switch has been somewhat overlooked, with the noticeable absence of triple-A titles such as Star Wars Battlefront II and Jedi: Fallen Order ensuring the Xbox and PlayStation remain consoles of choice for Star Wars fans.

While the re-releases of older titles (Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Episode I Racer) has been welcome, there is one obvious absence in the Switch's Star Wars library. While a brand new (preferably Switch exclusive) title would be preferable, there is one game fans have been itching to see again.

Rogue Leader was a fantastic GameCube launch title which was very popular with Star Wars and Nintendo fans alike, and remains immensely enjoyable to this day. A re-release of this classic will help keep Switch owners occupied and feel the Force until the release of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga later this year.

And if it's at all possible, Nintendo should really look into acquiring the rights of the original 2004 and 2005 Star Wars Battlefront games, which remain way better than the newer entries into the series...
