6. Failing To Kill Max When He Is Unconscious - Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne

Max Payne 2 begins with Max waking up, scarcely conscious, in a hospital, and is a pivotal moment later on in the game's story. Most of MP2 sees Max chasing down The Cleaners, a gang of contract killers, and complicating matters is the interference of Detective Winterson, who impedes Max's investigation by trying to bring down his uneasy partner and love interest, Mona Sax. After Max and Mona take out some of the Cleaners, Winterson arrives and tries to bring Mona in, so Max shoots Winterson to allow Mona to escape. However, in her final moments, she lets a shot out at Max, who is put in hospital as a result. He wakes up and has to shoot his way out of the hospital, but isn't it awfully convenient that nobody was able to get to Max for what is presumably a considerable amount of time while he's taken to hospital? The Cleaners are otherwise so efficient at chasing Max around New York, yet when he's at his weakest, they can't quite make it there in time, despite how many of these guys there are to do the job.
