5. Ganon Failing To Kill Link - The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time

During The Ocarina of Time, Link reaches the Sacred Realm inside the Temple of Time and finds the Master Sword, which is capable of destroying all the evil in the world. The problem is that Ganondorf, the game's prime villain, was smart enough to follow Link into the Temple and get the Triforce. However, what he wasn't smart enough to do was kill Link and be done with it. Instead, Link wakes up 7 years later, having learned that his spirit had been sealed until such a time that he was strong enough to use the Master Sword to kill Ganondorf. Of course, Link eventually faces off against Ganondorf and defeats him, when had Ganon not so gravely underestimated a young punk and actually made sure he murdered him on the spot, this all could have been avoided. It might be easy for an egomaniacal fiend like Ganon not to think much of some child, but running him through would have been the safest option. Why leave it to chance or risk?
