10 Classic Video Games You Didn’t Realise Had Sequels

Who doesn't miss F-Zero? Racing in outer space. Zipping around courses at the speed of sound. The bombastically catchy background music. Because of these features, you can see why F-Zero was Nintendo's biggest racer, save for Mario Kart. (I mean, how many driving games allow you defeat your fellow racers by killing them?)

That's why it's disappointing that this underrated gem has been on hiatus for nearly two decades. Even though F-Zero GX received universal praise, it's the last game in the saga released on consoles.

But that doesn't mean it was the final nail in the coffin. That same year, F-Zero: GP Legend debuted on the Game Boy Advance, to coincide with the launch of the anime series of the same name.

Although some Nintendo fans are aware of this, few are aware of the franchise's swan song F-Zero: Climax. Because of the brief one-player mode, and the reused graphics and audio, it's obvious Climax was rushed out to keep promoting the animated series.

Since the F-Zero: GP Legend anime was only released in Japan, Nintendo believed Climax wouldn't have much marketability in the west, which is why it wasn't released outside Asia.
