10 Classic Video Games You Didn’t Realise Had Sequels

2. Dino Stalker

Jak and Daxter: The Last Frontier
Capcom

To branch out the Dino Crisis name, Capcom released a light gun spin-off of the survival horror series called Dino Stalker. Because the game could be played with a regular controller or a light gun, the developers wanted to emphasise how Dino Stalker gave the player more range with controls than other shooters.

Sadly, Dino Stalker was let down by poor graphics, mundane gameplay, and imprecise controls, regardless of how you play it. (Also, the word "Reload" is mispronounced throughout the whole experience.)

Because Dino Stalker sucked, it's no surprise why fans of Dino Crisis never heard of it.

But this travesty isn't just a Dino Crisis sequel - it's also a follow-up to Gun Survivor 2, which is an offshoot of Resident Evil. (Because that's not confusing.)

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, Dino Stalker is a laser gun shooter like Gun Survivor and was made by the same company, but that doesn't mean it's a RE sequel, right?"

However, Dino Stalker has ties to the zombie franchise, including a statue from the original game and a building which bears the Umbrella insignia. And since its title in Japan is Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis, there's no question that it's connected with the Resident Evil spin-off. This means Dino Stalker has the distinction of being a sequel to two separate franchises!
