When I first picked up a PlayStation Pro I still had a 1080p television, and I've never regretted buying a new console more.

While there're still improvements to be seen on a regular HD screen, they're just not the way the console is supposed to be used. Upgrades to a game's performance are welcome, and dedicated 1080p modes for specific games do ease the pain somewhat for regular HD players, but these few and far between benefits alone don't justify the asking price.

Which means unless you've got a 4K TV at the ready (or like me know you'll be investing in one in the future) then you shouldn't be in a rush to upgrade just yet. The PlayStation Pro is an excellent machine when you have the output required to get the most out of it, but unless you're hugely into your tech you probably won't notice any tangible change with a normal HD screen.
