This years E3 showing for Microsoft was completely embarrassing and already more infamous than 599 U.S Dollars, RIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAACER, or anything else hilariously stupid Sony said at their cringe-worthy 2006 showing. Microsoft nearly gifted Sony the entire 8th console generation throughout 2013, but E3 is where the feces really hit the fan. If I dont condense this stupidity youre going to be reading a novel, so briefly Im going to touch on Microsofts plan; a plan that President of Microsoft Don Mattrick and numerous other boneheads were staunchly positive gamers would rally behind. Basically, Microsoft slipped up on discreet information detailing that the Xbox One would require the Kinect to always be connected, your internet to always be online, that you could not physically share games between friends, that you couldnt trade in used games, and that the future was an always online device. They also focused half their conference on a revelation that you could watch live television through the console. Sony took the stage afterwards and fired shots at their competition, taking total advantage of Microsofts blunder. They did everything from verbally announcing the PlayStation 4 supported game sharing, used games, offline gamers, and more. This was the manifestation of one corporation completely bludgeoning their competition with a sledgehammer. Sony even made viral videos mocking Microsofts decisions. Even after Microsoft spokesperson Major Nelson admitted that Microsoft couldnt reverse these design philosophies, the corporation seemingly magically found a way, To make matters worse, Microsoft representative Adam Orth was bitter and went on tweeting that gamers should just deal with this, while Don Mattrick actually stated that the U.S Military should just stay on 360 if they want to game overseas with no internet connection. Don Mattrick resigned from Microsoft shortly after while Orth was fired. Its a blunder and fiasco of epic proportions that gamers still discuss today. Truthfully, this failure will never be forgotten. Did we forget any controversial moments? Comment your thoughts below!
