1. Breath Of The Wild And Mario Odyssey Are... Average
We've already discussed how Nintendo are often held upon an untouchable pedestal, however, there are two games that Nintendo has created recently that have an even higher pedestal than the developers themselves.
Criticising, disliking or even not enjoying the game as much as you should, are met with vapid hatred. Fans lambasted critics for not giving 10/10s, or daring to suggest that maybe Mario Odysey has a superfluous amount of filler simply designed to artificially inflate the number of moons available, even though most of them are just lying there and can be found with minimal effort.
The same can be said for Breath of the Wild. People who didn't think the game fell within the franchise very well, or those who thought there wasn't much to it besides exploring, were met with vehement hatred.
These two games definitely have their problems, but the very vocal part of the internet doesn't want to hear that. They are good games, with solid fundamentals. It's in the dressing and presentation that they fall down considerably.
