10 Controversial Gaming Opinions You Should Keep To Yourself

7. Hideo Kojima Isn't The Gaming Messiah

Hideo Kojima has had a few good ideas but constantly falls short in others. He doesn't create perfect games, not even close. He creates flawed masterpieces. He creates some interesting character and stories, but takes it too far, twisting what was once new and creative into something that requires a masters degree in linguistics and psychology just to decipher.

His mind for gameplay is amazing. The evolution of the Metal Gear games is a testament to how well he understands gameplay and creating experiences. But then he crams the games with a bunch of filler.

Kojima is a great and brilliant mind, full of creative and entertaining ideas. However, his status as a gaming messiah is ultimately detrimental. It's the George Lucas effect. Someone needs to tell him to stop sometimes. Because no matter which way you cut it, the character of Quiet isn't exactly a great addition.
