2. Nanomachines Explain Everything
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kNrIn8H32c Easily the world's greatest plot device, seemingly every character in Metal Gear Solid is stuffed full of nanomachines - microscopic computers which provide radar support, radio communications, external monitoring of life signs, disease prevention... almost anything Kojima can think of in relation to a human body, it seems. Notoriously, nanomachines are used to explain just about every gaping plot hole in the MGS narrative too. Why is Vamp a vampire? Nanomachines. Why is Big Boss still alive? Nanomachines. Why can Snake survive a giant microwave corridor? Nano... you get the idea. Metal Gear Solid 4 is an exceptional experience but many took real issue with the story and dialogue of the game - nanomachines being used as magical devices capable of doing anything are a big reason for that. MGS is renowned for it's sporadically intelligent plot - and all of this felt a bit lazy. Again, you might play through Metal Gear Solid 4 and have no problems. In fact, you might be willing to accept that nanomachines have become so powerful they're capable of performing just about any task. At the end of the day, love them or hate them, they're here to stay.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
