10 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy Metal Gear Solid
3. Ghosts And Spirits Are Totally Real
Despite never really being mentioned in many cutscenes of dialogue exchanges, Snake and Big Boss both have a series of confrontations with ghostly spirits. One ghostly vision is far more prominent than others though, especially during the events of Metal Gear Solid 3. The Sorrow is a deceased member of the Cobra Unit and he appears frequently to Big Boss during Snake Eater. He helps the plot along in a number of ways and has his own boss fight which takes place in the 'spiritual realm'. Creepy stuff. He's not the only spirit wandering Kojima's world though. When The Fury is killed by Big Boss, he explodes and somehow morphs into a phantom-like fiery skull which chases Boss away - truly the stuff of nightmares. There are a number of other ghostly visions which haunt various areas of the Metal Gear Solid universe (including some Easter Eggs that can only be caught with the in-game camera), leaving us with no doubts that Kojima fully believes this sort of thing exists.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
