7. Rocket League

Almost everything about Rocket League exists to break the rules on what a racing/soccer simulator should be. Developed and released by Psyonix back in 2015 as a sequel to the team's Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the game sees players take control of their very own miniature rocket-powered cars in a sport called 'soccar'.

The game is literally described as: "soccer, but with rocket-powered cars" in what has to go down as one of the industry's biggest 'does what it says on the tin' moments, and features plenty of wacky visuals, animations and breathtaking bursts of action. Crashing and flying into each other is totally allowed, and certain tricks such as keeping the ball off the floor after the timer has reached zero can combine to be the difference between winning and losing in the game.

On top of the already wacky base game, there are a plethora of other sports such as ice hockey and basketball that can be played in these rocket powered cars, as well as unique bonus modes such as Rumble which throw a load of wacky contraptions and power ups such as spikes, plungers and magnets into the mix to add a little extra spice to things.
