Ultimate Muscle: Legends vs. New Generation is a 2002 wrestling video game originally developed for the Nintendo Gamecube and based off the classic anime and manga tales of Suguru Kinniku, the main hero in the Ultimate Muscle series.

Just like the series, Ultimate Muscle: Legends vs. New Generation revolves around Suguru Kinniku attempting to prove himself as the prince of Planet Kinniku and the ultimate wrestler by taking on the New Generation in all-new glorious 3D polygons.

As well as the bright visuals, 3D characters and plethora of different rings and settings, Ultimate Muscle: Legends vs. New Generation was a rule-breaker for a number of other reasons. For starters, every character in the game has their own backstory and all could be unlocked once they had been beaten.

The game also stood out with each of these characters been given their very own brutal finisher moves to use. Some of these moves wouldn't look out of place in a Mortal Kombat game in all honesty, and they really do give off this cinematic feel that helps blur the lines between video game and genuine anime series.
