Kirby's world is a colorful wonderland filled with tiny, adorable critters.

However, after the release of Kirby 64, some series' fans speculated that beneath its cute exterior, the pink ball's world is actually a post-apocalyptic version of our very own planet Earth.

Beginning in large part from the inclusion of a peculiar planet called Shiver Star in Kirby 64, the shapes on the planet's bleak and grey surface resembled those of Earth's continents, leading people to speculate that this similarity was no coincidence.

Given some in-game information about Shiver Star, like its location in the galaxy, fans drew further conclusions linking the two planets together, but all of it still seemed like more of a coincidence than proof.

That was until the release of Kirby and The Forgotten Land, where this post-apocalyptic theory was proven right.

The game's setting, a ruined city filled with plenty of modern human inventions and even references to actual real-life locations, showed that Shiver Star really was a doomsday version of our own planet.

Better not to think what this implies about Kirby and his little friends...
