7. Wizzrobe (First Appearance In A Link To The Past – 1992)
These sneaky wizard-like figures have the ability to become invisible at will and teleport to avoid the deadly sword of Hyrule’s tight-lipped champion.
The official instruction booklet for the game describes this enemy as follows:
“This wizard appears and disappears using magic. You can only damage him while he is visible. The Wizzrobe attacks using magical beams of energy”.
A foe that follows a repetitive and cowardly strategy of attack-and-hide, the Wizzrobe will mostly cast spells from a safe distance away from the hero and it will immediately teleport to avoid any possible damage. Not a particularly difficult enemy, but a surprisingly elusive one if you lack the skills to move with ease across the battle field. You’ll need to precisely time your attacks and move around constantly in order to vanquish this supernatural menace.
The key to victory? Try to reach the place where the Wizzrobe will next appear before the evil wizard even gets there. Then equip your sword and swing furiously while you can.
