1. The Baby (P.T)
Although the title and focus of this entry is the weird baby-like thing you find bloody and dirty in the sink of P.T's bathroom, you could pretty much include any character from the experimental horror game on this list and they would still come claim the top spot. Whether it's the instantly terrifying Lisa or the more subtle uneasiness of the radio announcer, everything about the atmospheric nightmare that is P.T will stay with you for days. However, 'the thing in the sink' is perhaps the creepiest of the bunch. You actually hear it long before you see it, with the baby's wails being heard as you move through the corridor, essentially becoming its own character as it haunts you through the early stages of the teaser. But then the previously-shut door to the bathroom cracks open slightly, revealing one of the game's most effective jump scares as you peek through it. It takes a while for it to fully open so you can finally see where the crying's coming from, but the suspense the game builds until that point around this mini-mystery is absolutely one of the highlights of the experience - and a huge part of what made P.T. go down in gaming history across 2014.
