8. Gallo's Home - Fallout 3

Sewers have always been a rather terrifying place for humanity to have built their homes over. Whether it's killer clowns or hidden aliens, sewers have been places few wish to travel into and Fallout 3 is no exception.

If the player decides to make the long trek through the decaying and infested County Sewer Mainline, one of many sewer systems the player can enter, they will be met will all sorts of terrifying discoveries.

Not only is the County Sewer filled with dozens of angry ghouls and raiders, but someone has also laid out traps throughout the sewer that the player has to carefully avoid or disarm. At the center of these traps is a hidden area where the player will run into a ghoul wearing a birthday hat, named Gallo.

After being forced to kill Gallo, as he will always be hostile to the player, they can investigate Gallo's home, discovering a huge stockpile of neatly laid out junk. Two gnomes dressed up with birthday party hats are seated on some barstools, with some plates of mysterious meat laid out before them.

With further inspection, the player can find a fridge filled with the rotting corpses of other ghouls. All these discoveries indicate that Gallo became a sort of cannibal, using his vast network of traps to capture his prey.

The discovery of cannibalism is quite common to find in Fallout, but Gallo's cannibalism is unique in that he seems to be killing and eating ghouls out of necessity, though the planning and execution of his network of sewer traps show just how intelligent Gallo was while he hunted down his food. Another place player may wish they had not visited.
