10 Creepy Video Game Characters You ACTUALLY Root For
3. Lisa Trevor - Resident Evil (2002)
One of the new elements added to the 2002 remake of the original Resident Evil was the inclusion of an entirely new sub-plot involving the horrifying, unstoppable, Lisa Trevor.
Living in a dilapidated shack in the woods, arms bound, covered in dead flesh, Lisa is, to put it bluntly, "scary af." She serves the Mr. X/Nemesis role in the game, being an at-first invincible monster whose sole gameplay purpose is to make you feel powerless. She is also the most tragic character in the entire series.
Lisa was the daughter of George Trevor, the architect hired by Umbrella Corp. to build the puzzle-filled mansion that covers the secret laboratory that would go on to produce a zombie outbreak. After her father was killed to preserve Umbrella's secrets, Lisa and her mother were abducted and used as test subjects for the company's experiments.
Her mother, mercifully, died soon after. Lisa, however, was built of genetically sturdier stuff. Experimented upon repeatedly over the next 30-ish years, Lisa was eventually discreetly tucked away in her cabin, left to suffer and forage for food.
The player can lead her to the altar where her mother's remains are interred, where Lisa chooses to leap to her death into a pit, crying and holding her mother's body.
Rest in peace, Lisa.
