10 Criminally Underrated Video Game Sequels Nobody Played

4. Super Punch-Out!!

Punch-Out for the NES was more than just a great game; it was a childhood institution. What kid doesn't have fond memories of failing to beat Mike Tyson and taking out their frustrations on the pathetic Glass Joe once again? Super Punch-Out not only improved upon the first game in nearly every conceivable way, it actually made an effort to advance the core gameplay and add a new layer of depth to the experience. Unfortunately, for some gamers, its attempt to mature the franchise may have detracted too much from the simple nature of the first entry. Those that went into the sequel expecting a simplified boxing experience found something much closer to a 2D fighter. Invest just a little more time into learning Super Punch-Out, though, and it will reward you appropriately with a much deeper kind of boxing game.
