3. Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Although many players may have picked up Condemned: Criminal Origins as the best option among a sparse Xbox 360 launch lineup, they soon found one of the greatest horror games ever made. Condemned's thrilling tale of a detective on the hunt of a psychopath serial killer lent the game an addictive atmosphere of pure dread. It was a tone that few other games have ever been able to equal, but Condemned 2 absolutely nails it. Condemned 2 plays out like an episode of CSI in the world of Tales From the Crypt. There's an underlying element of realism throughout the narrative that just makes the surreal elements all the more disturbing. Developer Monolith also did a fantastic job of tightening the gameplay of the first game while adding compelling new elements such as the main character's need to drink in order to aim straight. Those that have been seeking a game that can match what Criminal Origins brought to the genre will find it in this overlooked sequel.
