7. Edward (IV)
From start to finish, Final Fantasy IV is a thoroughly engaging and enjoyable game. Though there are silly moments, such as having to slap a man with a frying pan or deal with the company of pre-pubescent twins. There are few out and out cringeworthy 'moments', per se, but there is a cringeworthy character in the form of Edward, a Prince who players first meet after his castle home of Damcyan is attacked and his beloved Anna is killed. As he wishes to give up and take no action against her killers, he must be convinced to join lead character Cecil's cause. From this point on, he remains similarly pathetic (one of his commands in battle is to hide, for God's sake), to the point where he remains bedridden for almost the entirety of the game after being the victim of a shipwreck (which other characters like Cecil and Yang merely shrug off...)
