2. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
What rationally sane human being could have predicted that the stand-alone DLC for one of the most critically lauded games of 2012 would completely flip the Far Cry island on its head? Gone are overly religious natives and psychopathic mercenaries, making room for some 80s nostalgic action featuring: cyborgs, neon pink environments, synthesized music, awesomely cringe-worthy one liners, and internet meme spouting purple dragons. And it all works gloriously well. Perhaps the most satisfying aspect of this 80s action cheese throwback is the fact that you play a cyborg voiced by Michael Biehn (The Terminator) and have Robocops pistol. The amount of fan service is unprecedented but this little gem of a game also maintains every outstanding core gameplay mechanic of Far Cry 3, which naturally means a foundation of excellence. This isnt just an overlooked game but legitimately one of the greatest usages of DLC in existence.
